Draped Bust half dollar, PCGS VG8. A very pleasing coin for the grade and a fantastic example of this rare, late die stage.

This rarity shows not only the full cud above ATE of STATES, but the additional, retained cud above ITE of UNITED. Our search of previous public sales of this die state turns up only 3 or 4 PCGS or NGC graded examples over the past 15 years. The coin itself is quite nice, original and appealing, with lovely antique toning and problem free surfaces. A very sweet coin, and one made all the more cool thanks to the rarity of the die state and the reverse cuds.
