Choice Original & Better Variety! 1806 Draped Bust Half Dollar. Pointed 6, Stem Through Claw.

Uncleaned original surfaces still have dirt on them! Rich dove grey fields with lighter "circulated cameo" effect over the high points. High-end if not actually PQ for the grade; strong details in the drapery and face, and the cheek is a little too well-rounded for the VG grade level. Well-centered with fully visible border dentils and strong overall rims. Typical weakness in the eagles feathers, but the razor sharp shield makes up some slack.

Examining the higher grades in CoinFacts reveals that this reverse is often weakly struck on the eagles head and wings. Overton-123 is a better variety, rather easily identified by the 1 and 6 touching the curl and bust, respectively. Looking for something out of the ordinary?
