Known as a Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle Half Dollar. Obverse: Bust of Liberty Facing Right With a Ribbon in the Hair. Reverse: Heraldic Eagle Facing Forwards with Arrows and An Olive Branch. Around Rim: United States of America - 25 C. Draped Bust (1796 - 1807). Heraldic Eagle 1804 - 1807. The draped bust Liberty designed by Robert Scot was used on the obverse with stars reduced to 13. The reverse designed by newly hired John Reich was changed to feature a heraldic eagle drawn from the official seal.

The eagle displayed wings spread with a shield and thirteen stars above. The denomination inscription was added. While not as rare as the smaller eagle type, the Heraldic Eagle Draped Bust coinage is scarce and remains popular among type collectors and half quarter dollar enthusiasts.
